New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - Mrs. Caroline (Stilwagon) Crawford

Mrs. Caroline Crawford, widow of Rulief Crawford, died of consumption at Vanderburg on Sunday. She was 72 years old and had been sick over a year. Her maiden name was Stilwagon and she was born at Cliffwood. Her husband died of consumption about eight years ago, aged 73 years. Six children, all of whom are living, were the result of their marriage. The children are Sarah, George and John Crawford, who live at home; Mrs. George Jones of Turkey; Rulief Crawford of Matawan; and William Crawford, who lives near the deep cut in Middletown township. Mrs. Crawford also leaves three brothers. They are John Stilwagon of Brown’s Point, near Matawan; Dayton Stilwagon of Matawan, and Watson Stilwagon of Cliffwood. The funeral was held this afternoon at three o’clock at the house. The service was conducted by Rev. R. B. Fisher and the body was buried in the Holmdel cemetery.
