New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - Mrs. Rebecca Jane Osborne

Mrs. Rebecca Jane Osborne, wife of John Osborne of Belford, died at the Hahnemann hospital at New York last Saturday from the effects of an operation performed for appendicitis. She was 32 years old. She had been sick about two weeks and on Thursday she was taken to the hospital. The operation was performed on Friday and Saturday afternoon she died. She revived after the operation was performed and was conscious up to within a few minutes of her death. Mrs. Osborne leaves a husband and two small children. They are Ethel and Alma Osborne. Mrs. Osborne was a member of the Methodist church of Belford and a teacher in the Sunday-school. The body was brought to Belford on Monday on the steamer Wm. V. Wilson and the funeral was held on Monday night at the house. Rev. J. Ward Clark had charge of the service. On Tuesday morning the body was taken to Bridgeton, Mrs. Osborne’s former home, for burial.
