Killed by a Fall

Melvin C. Pittenger of Asbury Park, a lineman employed by the Asbury Park electric light company, fell from a pole at North Spring Lake on Monday afternoon and sustained injuries which resulted in his death yesterday morning. Mr. Pittenger had been sent to North Spring Lake to make changes in the electric light wires in that borough. The current had been turned on, and as Pittenger went to cut one of the wires he received a shock which caused him to lose his hold. He struck the pavement head first and his skull was fractured. He was taken to the Long Branch hospital where he died. He was 27 years and leaves a widow.
