New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - Mrs. Catharine A. (Carhart) Hendrickson

Mrs. Catharine A. (Carhart) Hendrickson, widow of James N. Hendrickson, a former resident of Holmdel township, died at Red Bank on Thursday morning at the home of her daughters, Misses Helen and Eliza A. Hendrickson of Oakland street, with whom she made her home. She was 79 years old. Death was caused by heart trouble, with which she had suffered for the past two years. Mrs. Hendrickson was born in Holmdel township and was the daughter of James Carhart. On December 29th, 1837, she was married to Mr. Hendrickson, who was a miller and who ran what is now known as Ely’s mill, on the Jonathan Holmes property. Mr. Hendrickson died in 1849.

Mrs. Hendrickson’s funeral was held on Saturday afternoon at two o’clock from the house and the service was conducted by Rev. E. C. Hancock. The burial was at Fair View cemetery.
