New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - Philip Zeigler

Philip Zeigler died at one o’clock last night at his home on Worthley street, Red Bank, at the age of ninety years. Death was due to the infirmities of old age. Mr. Zeigler died sitting up, in the arms of his son Adam. Mr. Zeigler was born in Aepfenbach, Baden, Germany. He came to this country in 1866 and settled in Red Bank, where some of his children then lived. His wife died 24 years ago. Mr. Zeigler leaves five children. They are George Ziegler, Katrina Stier, widow of Philip Stier; Barbara Kuhl, wife of Philip Kuhl; Annie Degenring, wife of Jacob Degenring; and Adam Zeigler of Little Silver. All the children except the last-named live at Red Bank. Besides the children Mr. Zeigler leaves 28 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
