New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - Mrs. Phoebe Pope

Mrs. Phoebe Pope died at the home of her son, Wyckoff Pope of Colt's Neck, last Friday morning, aged 88 years. Mrs. Pope was in apparently good health and was eating her breakfast when she suddenly fell back in her chair and died. Besides her son Wyckoff three other children survive her. They are Mrs. C. Scobey and Mrs. A. L. Scobey of Eatontown and Edward Pope of New York state. The funeral was held at the house on Monday and was conducted by Rev. S. R. Cunningham. The body was buried in the Holmdel cemetery.
