New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - Peter Rafferty

Peter Rafferty of the Highlands died on Friday of last week of chronic gastritis, aged 63 years. He had suffered from this disease a number of years and was subject to frequent acute attacks. He had worked for J. F. Kernochan of the Highlands about 25 years. A wife and one son, Dr. Peter Rafferty of Red Bank, survive him. The funeral was held at the Catholic church at the Highlands on Monday and was conducted by Rev. Father Sweeney. The body was buried at Mr. Olivet cemetery at Headden's Corner. The pall-bearers were Thomas Swift, Bernard Creighton, John and James McGarry, Garrett VanKirk and Richard Mount.
