Search this site by Keyword / Surname:

Sarah Seymour Houghton, wife of Matthew Houghton, who died recently, owned considerable property at Monmouth Beach, including the Monmouth Beach club house. She left to her cousin, Mary Seymour, and to her niece, Louise Dennison, $200 each per year, so long as they might live, or until they married. She left to her son, Clarence S. Houghton, several pieces of old-fashioned furniture in the Monmouth Beach club house; a house in New York city at the corner of West End avenue and 93d street; and the Clark cottage at Monmouth Beach. To her other son, H. Seymour Houghton, she left the Valentine and Torrey cottages at Monmouth Beach. All the rest of her property was to be equally divided between these two sons, and they were made the executors of the will. The will was made in New York December 20th, 1895 and the will was signed by Mrs. Seymour's husband as well as by herself.
