Thomas J. Oakes died at Red Bank last Thursday, aged 27 years, after a year's sickness. He was a son of Patrick Oakes of Holmdel, but had lived in Red Bank nearly all his life. A wife survives him. The funeral was held on Monday morning from St. James's church. The pall-bearers were Edward Connors, Jacob Straus, John Long, John Lang, William Welsh and Con. Cronen. The body was buried at Mt. Olivet.
