New Jersey Obituaries - July 27, 1898 - Robert Miller

Robert Miller of Lower Squankum died on Monday of last week, aged 86 years. For 45 years he was a justice of the peace in Howell township. He was a great churchman, and for twenty years he was superintendent of the Methodist Sunday-school. His first wife was Miss Katharine Conover of Blue Ball, who died in 1887. A few years ago he married Miss Elizabeth Martin, who survives him. His living children are Alexander Miller, of Como; Everett of Wayside; Charles, of Jerseyville; Theodore, of Blue Ball; Elias, of Richmond, Virginia; and Mrs. Althea Hulit, of Rosedale. Another daughter, Mrs. Henrietta Longstreet of West Farms died in May, 1891. Mr. Miller was of a family of eleven, of which one only in now living. This is Mrs. Lydia VanNote of Point Pleasant. Twenty-two grandchildren are living.
