Thomas Newell of Scobeyville died on Sunday of last week. His death was caused by consumption, with which he had been sick a long time. He was 73 years old. Mr. Newell was born near Freehold and lived in that locality for over fifty years. He afterward moved to Poplar and then to Belmar. Five years ago he moved to Scobeyville. His wife was Miss Catherine E. Vanderveer and she, with three children, survives him. The children are Harry C. Newell of Long Branch, John V. Newell of East Orange and Mrs. Henry C. Oswald. Mr. Newell also left a sister, Mrs. Ella M. Watts of Red Bank. years.
