New Jersey Obituaries - August 17, 1898 - John McCarthy
|
John McCarthy died very suddenly of apoplexy last Thursday afternoon at his home at Morrisville. Mr. McCarthy had gone to the barn about five o'clock to feed his horse, and on the way back from the barn to the house he was stricken with the disease. He died before medical assistance could reach him. He was 68 years old and had been a resident of Morrisville for forty years. A widow and five children survive him. The children are John and Mary, who live at home; Dennis and Michael of Asbury Park, and Daniel McCarthy of Seabright. The funeral was held on Monday morning at nine o'clock from the house and at ten o'clock from St. Catherine's church at Morrisville. The service was conducted by Rev. William Treacy.
