New Jersey Obituaries - August 3, 1898 - Mrs. Mary Cooper

Mrs. Mary Cooper, widow of Stephen Cooper, died at Red Bank on Monday morning of bronchitis. She was 71 years old and had been a resident of Red Bank for the past thirty years. Previous to that time she had lived at Freehold and Keyport. She was the daughter of Jacob Swan of Navesink and was born March 16th, 1 827. On June 18th, 1855, she was married to Stephen Cooper, who was her brother-in-law. For a number of years Mr. Cooper was associated in the sash and blind business at Red Bank with Timbrook Davis. Mrs. Cooper was a member of the First Methodist church and was always deeply interested in church work. She leaves one daughter, Miss Clara Cooper, who made her home with her mother. The funeral will be held to-morrow at half-past two o'clock from the house and at three o'clock from the Methodist church. The service will be conducted by Rev. E. C. Hancock. The burial will be at Fair View.
