New Jersey Obituaries - April 27, 1898 - James Pettit

James Pettit of New Monmouth, who was employed on the goverment (sic) works at Sandy Hook, died last Saturday. He came home sick with the grip last Wednesday and grew rapidly worse. He became unconscious on Friday noon and remained in that condition until his death. He was 45 years old and leaves a wife and six children. The funeral was held yesterday from the New Monmouth Catholic church, and was conducted by Rev. John O'Connor. The burial was at Mount Olivet cemetery.
