New Jersey Obituaries - April 27, 1898 - Mrs. Hannah (Patterson) Hopping

Mrs. Hannah (Patterson) Hopping, widow of John J. Hopping, died very suddenly of heart disease on Sunday night at the home of her sister, Mrs. Samuel Frost, on Riverside Drive, Middletown township. Mrs. Hopping was preparing for bed when she was attacked with the disease. A physician was sent for but she died before he arrived. She was 76 years old. Two children survive her. They are John T. Hopping of New Monmouth and James P. Hopping of Atlantic Highlands. Mrs. Hopping was a sister of John H. Patterson, Mrs. William Hendrickson and Mrs. Joseph Applegate, Sr., of Middletown township; C. Ewing Patterson of Long Branch, and Henry Patterson, who lives out West. The funeral was held at the house this afternoon at two o'clock. The service was conducted by Rev. W. H. J. Parker. The burial was at Fair View.
