New Jersey Obituaries - September 1, 1897 - James Connolly

James Connolly died at Eatontown last Thursday of kidney trouble. He broke his leg some time ago and gangrene set in. This aggravated the kidney trouble, and the two factors combined caused his death. He was 76 years old. He was born in Ireland and came to this country when a small boy. He engaged in business in New York when a young man and made a competence. He retired from business shortly after the war ended and bought a farm near Eatontown, where he had since lived. His wife has been dead several years, and he lived with his son and daughter. The funeral was held on Sunday night and on Monday morning the body was taken to Greenwood cemetery for burial.
