New Jersey Obituaries - June 30, 1897 - Mrs. Maria Scott

Mrs. Maria Scott died at Long Branch last Thursday night. She was 95 years old and her death was due to a general breaking up of the system. Mrs. Scott was the widow of James Reynolds Scott and was born in Philadelphia May 13th, 1802. She had lived at Long Branch 23 years and was the oldest communicant of St. James's Episcopal church at that place. She had been connected with the Episcopal church since her childhood. Mr. Scott was the mother of seven children, two of whom survive her. They are Mrs. Mary Barrow of Washington, D. C., and Miss Louisa Scott of Long Branch. Her funeral was held on Sunday and the body was taken to Bristol, Pa., on Monday for burial.
Per the Death Notice Mrs. Scott was aged 95 years, 1 month and 11 days.
