Mrs. Mary E. Efforts Dies While Scrubbing the Floor
Mary E. Efforts, wife of William Efforts, was found dead in the kitchen of her house at Eatontown last Friday night, between nine and ten o'clock, by a neighbor. Mr. Efforts is a hard-working man. At nine o'clock he retired and as he went up stairs his wife was scrubbing the floor. Mr. Efforts told her she had better go to bed and let the floor go until Saturday. Half an hour later she was found dead by a neighbor who saw a light and had run in to see Mrs. Efforts a minute. The body was lying on the floor, and death had overtaken her while she was at work. On Saturday Coroner W. F. Hopper viewed the remains and gave a burial permit. Death was due to the bursting of a blood vessel. Mrs. Efforts was about 68 years old. She leaves one child, a daughter, who lives in the South. The funeral was held from the house at ten o'clock on Sunday morning.
