New Jersey Obituaries - July 21, 1897 - Philip E. Cline

Philip E. Cline of Long Branch died very suddenly last Wednesday morning at Castle hall, Long Branch. Mr. Cline went to Castle hall on Tuesday night to attend an installation of the officers of the Knights of Pythias. He was about to be installed to the office of master of work, when he was stricken with a hemorrhage of the brain. He lingered in this condition until the next morning, when he died. Mr. Cline was about 45 years old. He was employed as foreman in the composing room of the office of the Long Branch RECORD. A short funeral service was held by the Knight of Pythias on Thursday morning, after which the body was taken to Wenonah, N. J., the home of Mr. Cline's father, Rev. Philip Cline. The funeral was held on Friday night and the burial was at Sharpstown, N. J., on Saturday.
