New Jersey Obituaries - August 18, 1897 - Carl Commes

Carl Commes died of consumption at the home of his brother, Henry Commes, on Bridge avenue, on Sunday morning. He had been sick about a year and a half. He was at the Presbyterian hospital, New York, for six months, but his condition did not improve and he went to his brother's, where he made his home until his death. Mr. Commes was born in Germany, and he was thirty years old. He leaves a wife and a baby six months old. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at two o'clock. Rev. E. C. Hancock conducted the services. The Eintracht singing society and the New Era association attended the funeral in a body. The interment was at Fair View.
