Obituaries:

Mrs. Sarah Osborn.

Mrs. Sarah Osborn of Middletown, widow of Ezra Osborn, died at the home of her sisters-in-law, the Misses Martha and Elizabeth Osborn, last Friday morning. She had been an invalid a long time. She was a daughter of Benjamin W. Corlies of Eatontown, and was 66 years old. She leaves three children, Miss Mary Osborn, Mrs. Daniel Hendrickson and Frank Osborn, all of whom live at Middletown. Mrs. Osborn was a member of the society of Friends. The funeral was held on Sunday from her late residence and the interment was made in Fair View cemetery.

Mrs. Christian Fiordland.

Mrs. Christian Fiordland died at Port Monmouth on Saturday of rheumatism of the heart. She was 63 years old and leaves a husband and five children. The children are Mrs. John Heldt of Long Branch, Christian, William and Bertha Fiordland of Port Monmouth, and Miss Christina Fiordland of New York. The funeral was held yesterday and the burial was at Bay View cemetery, Atlantic Highlands.

William Hartshorne.

William Hartshorne, died near Freehold on Friday, May 8th, aged 93 years. His death was caused by paralysis. He was born at Matawan, but moved with his family at an early age to Freehold, where he operated Hartshorne's mills for a number of years. He was an Odd Fellow. The day before his death he was baptized in the Episcopal church. He leaves four children.

Thomas L. Heyer.

Thomas L. Heyer, who farmed Daniel I. Stilwell's place at Hazlet, died suddenly last Friday morning. He started out in the asparagus field, as usual, but was taken sick and died before a doctor could be secured. Mr. Heyer leaves a wife and three children. He was a member of St. John's Methodist church of Keyport and of Frelinghuysen council of American Mechanics.

Mrs. Emma Burns.

Mrs. Emma Burns, wife of Eugene Burns of Englishtown, died of convulsions on Saturday, May 9th, aged twenty years. She had 32 convulsions during Friday and Saturday. She leaves a husband and one child about a week old. The child will be adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Perrine of Englishtown.

Mrs. Eliza Wells.

Mrs. Eliza Wells, widow of William W. Wells of Freehold, died at the home of her son-in-law, John F. Sanford at East Orange, on Sunday of last week, aged 77 years. Her death was caused by consumption. She leaves no children.

Annie McCormack.

Annie McCormack, daughter of James McCormack of Holmdel township, died of heart failure, resulting from diptheria, on Sunday of last week. She died while sitting in a chair. She was seventeen years of age.

Mrs. Catherine Canary.

Mrs. Catherine Canary died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Burk, at Marlboro, on Friday, May 8th. Her exact age was not known, but it is thought that she was nearly 100 years old.

James M. Hayden.

James M. Hayden, a veteran of the late war, died of heart disease at Long Branch last Wednesday. He was a bachelor and was 70 years old. He had lived at Long Branch for sixteen years.

Mrs. Catherine DuBois.

Mrs. Catharine Dubois, wife of John DuBois, died at Freehold last Wednesday of paralysis, aged 74 years. She was stricken on the previous Sunday. She leaves a husband and eight children.

William B. White.

William B. White died of peritonitis at Long Branch on Friday, May 8th, aged 40 years. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and leaves a widow and two children.

  • BURNS - At Englishtown, on Saturday, May 9th, Emma, wife of Eugene Burns, aged 20 years.

  • CANARY - At Marlboro, on Friday, January 8th, Mrs. Catherine Canary.

  • COE - At Matawan, on Saturday, May 9th, Ruth, infant daughter of William A. Coe.

  • DuBOIS - At Freehold, on Wednesday, May 13th, Catharine, wife of John DuBois, aged 74 years, 11 months and 17 days.

  • FIORDLAND - At Port Monmouth, on Saturday, May 16th, Mrs. Christian Fiordland, aged 63 years.

  • HARTSHORNE - Near Freehold, on Friday, May 8th, William Hartshorne, aged 93 years.

  • McCORMACK - In Holmdel township, on Sunday, May 10th, Annie, daughter of James McCormack, aged 17 years and 9 months.

  • OSBORN - At Middletown, on Friday, May 15th, Sarah, widow of Ezra Osborn, aged 66 years.

  • SMOCK - At Keyport, on Thursday, May 14th, Martin V. B. Smock, aged 59 years and 6 months.

  • WHITE - At Long Branch, on Friday, May 8th, William B. White, aged 40 years.

  • WELLS - At East Orange, on Sunday, May 10th, Eliza, widow of William Wells of Freehold, aged 77 years.
