By the fall of an ampitheater in Quincy, Ill., last Wednesday night, A. W. Wells was killed. Mr. Wells formerly lived in this neighborhood. He enlisted twice, once for a year and once for nine months. He taught school at Leedsville for seven years, and afterward studied law with Robert Allen, jr. He was a man of prominence at Quincy, and had served two terms in the Illinois legislature. He will be remembered by many of the people of this part of the county.
