Obits - NJ - Monmouth - John Woodward, sr. |
John Woodward, sr., of White street, died on Sunday evening from inflamation
of the lungs combined with a severe attack of asthma. He had suffered with
asthma for the past eighteen years. About a month ago he went to Ocean county,
where he was taken sick and was confined to his bed for two weeks.
On his return home he grew better and last Thursday night he attended the
temperance lecture in Concert hall. The trip up the two flights of stairs was an
imprudent journey for him to make in his state of health, and a window which
which [sic] was opened near him caused a cold draught of air to strike his head.
he was taken sick again, inflammation of the lungs ensued, and he died on Sunday night.
Death notice lists his age as 51 years.
