Mrs. Sarah Roberts Leonard, widow of Richard A. Leonard, died on the homestead farm near Leonardville last Friday, from cancer in the stomach. She was about seventy years of age. Her funeral took place from her late residence on Sunday afternoon and was very largely attended by the old representative familes from all parts of Middletown, Shrewsbury, Holmdel and Raritan townships. The Rev. J. H. Boyes, the Baptist minister of Atlantic Highlands, conducted the funeral services, and the Rev. Wm. V. Wilson, of Port Monmouth, added a graceful tribute to the memory of the deceased lady. Her remains were interred in Fairview cemetery. She leaves three children, one of whom is Miss Ella Leonard, of the Atlantic Highlands Independent. Besides her children she leaves four step-children.
