Obits - NJ - Monmouth - William A. French, jr. |
William A. French, jr., died at the residence of his parents on Monmouth
street on Wednesday of last week, at the age of 22 years and 9 months. Mr.
French had been in poor health for nearly a year and had been confined to the
house for six weeks previous to his death. When he was first forced to give
up active work the disease was pneumonia. This was followed by pleurisy,
which terminated in hasty consumption and death. The funeral was held from
the house on Friday afternoon, the services being conducted by the Rev. W. J.
Crossley, a Universalist clergyman of Danbury Connecticut.
The pall-bearers were Ensley Morris, Benj. Richardson, Charles Noble, George
Holmes, Riviere Sneden and Charles Oliver. The interment was made at
Fair View. The young man was bright and popular in social circles and will be
missed by a large number of friends. He was fond of outdoor athletic
and was a prominent member of the Monmouth boat club, which organization
attended the funeral in a body.
