Mrs. Amanda H. Burrowes, wife of Thomas Burrowes, of Keyport, and sister-in-law of Joseph T. Burrowes, of this place, died last Thursday in childbirth. Her husband was in Chicago at the time and all her older children were away from home. The funeral was held on Monday. Mrs. Burrowes was the daughter of Capt. Isaac Herbert, formerly the proprietor of the Old Atlantic and Pavillion hotels at Keyport. She was born in 1840 and married Mr. Burrowes 26 years ago. She was the mother of fourteen children, twelve of whom are still living.
