On Monday Mrs. Sarah L. Schroeder, wife of Henry C. J. Schroeder, of Red Bank, died of pericarditus, or dropsy of the heart. She was sick but two weeks. Dr. George F. Marsden had charge of the case, and after consultation with Drs. Hammond and Helmoth, of New York, it was decided to perform an operation to withdraw the water about the heart, all other efforts at relief having failed. Mrs. Schroeder was too weak, however, to withstand it, and died under the operation. Mrs. Schroeder was the daughter of Judge Hatfield, of New York. She was Mr. Schroeder's second wife, and was the mother of two children, both daughters, and both of whom are still living. The funeral will be held to-morrow afternoon at two o'clock at her late residence, and the interment will be in Christ church burrying ground, Shrewsbury.
