Mrs. John Smith, mother-in-law of Police Captain Lloyd, of Long Branch, died at the latter's residence on Wednesday morning of last week at the age of 78 years. For many years Mrs. Smith has been a sufferer from heart disease and asthma, and recently dropsy was added to her ills. Thoug so seriously afflicted her death came unexpectedly. Mrs, Smith lost her husband about four years ago at the age of 83. She leaves six children: Lewis H. Smith, who is a partner of Benjamin West; Mrs. Lloyd Parker, Mrs. Allen Parker; Mrs. David Minton, of Fair Haven; and Mrs. C. P. Lloyd and Mrs. William Kelso, of Long Branch. Mrs. Smith was a resident of fair Haven for a great many years.
