Drowned at Pleasure Bay
Bloomfield Edwards's Son Drowned by the Helen's Waves
A little son of Bloomfield Edwards, of Pleasure Bay, went in bathing opposite the Pleasure Bay house
yesterday afternoon. He was in the water up to his neck when the steamer Helen went by.
The waves of the steamboat washed over him and carried him into the deep water, where he was drowned.
The boy was only about nine years of age. several of his friends of about the same age were with him, but were
unable to render any assistance. A number of men were on the other side of the creek. They made efforts to save him,
but could not reach him in time. the body was recovered shortly afterwards.
