Obituaries - Wash., DC - 1992 - Rosemary Frances Doyle Beales |
Rosemary Frances Doyle Beales, 81, a retired statistical clerk with the Bureau of Labor Statistics who was a former District and Riverdale resident,
died of cancer Oct. 22 in Catonsville, MD at the Charlestown Retirement Community, where she had lived since 1992.
Mrs. Beales, who graduated from Marquette University in her native Milwaukee in 1934, came to the Washington area in the mid 1930's and
worked for the Post Office Department until 1943. She returned to the government in the mid 1960's, working for the Labor Department until
retiring in 1979.
She had been a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Washington and St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Riverdale. At St. Bernard's, she was
a member of the video library ministry, the sodality and the wedding committee. She was a 1986 graduate of the parish service program at Trinity
College in Washington. She had been a member of the West Lanham Hills volunteer fire department auxiliary.
Her husband, Charles Melvin Beales, whom she married in 1937, died in 1969. Survivors include a son, Allan J., of Lanham; seven daughters,
Pat Violette of Centreville, Virginia Donnelly of Agawam, Mass., Carol Sams of Gambrills, Md., Bernadette Rodak of Indianapolis, Katherine Ollry
of Gaithersburg, Rosemary Neff of Brandywine, Md., and Eileen Johnson of Lanham; 17 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
