Martha Bramble

Martha Bramble DIED - On the 30th of May, Martha, wife of the Hon. D. T. Bramble. The deceased was born in Fairfield county, Connecticut - was married some fifteen months since, and came with her husband direct to this place. Possessed of a kind and generous disposition, and of easy and agreeable manners, she soon endeared herself to a large circle of friends, and became a general favorite. Hence, more and truer and more loving mourners have seldom been called to weep for the dead.

In the death of Mrs. Bramble, not only by her husband, but society at large has sustained a severe loss. All have had removed from them, counsel, example, and encouragement in good, whence pleasure and benefit could not but flow.

There is a sacredness in the sweet charities of domestic life, the hallowed exercises of piety, and the cherished affections (paper torn, cannot read next line) suitable for public enlargement. There are, however, precious records of them in minds that will always dearly cherish them. There are records of them in that book of remembrance before God, to be opened when He, for Christ's sake, will own His good and faithful servants, and call them to his heavenly Kingdom. Mrs. Bramble has entered into rest. For

    "He giveth his beloved sleep."

"Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord; yea, saith the spirit, for they rest from their labors, and their works do follow them."
