California Obituaries - 1899 - Earl EwertDeath of Earl Ewert
On Monday evening last, Earl, the young son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Ewert, died at the residence of
J. T. Hart, a brother-in-law of Mr. Ewert, in Upper Placerville, at the age of two years and ten months.
The little one had been suffering for several days previous with pneumonia, at the home of its parents
at Camp 7, some thirty miles East of Placerville. Here everything that medical skill and tender
nursing could suggest was resorted to, and it was only to be nearer relatives and friends when the
inevitable should happen, that the heart broken parents finally concluded to bring the little ufferer
to this city where dissolution occurred.
The funeral took place from the Hart residence on Wednesday the 15th instant, and was conducted
by Rev. W. H. P. MacDonald, with interment in Union Cemetery.
