General Pershing Reports 36 Casualties; Killed in Action pass the 600 Mark
Washington, June 3. - The War Department today gave out a list of
36 casualties in the American army abroad, bringing the total to 6,700. The
number killed in action has now passed the 600 mark. The day's list included
the names of 4 killed in action, 3 died of wounds, 3 wounded in action
to a degree undetermined, 16 wounded severely, 1 slightly wounded, 2 killed
by accident, and 7 died of disease.
Three commissioned officers are included. Lieutenant Harry F. W.
Johnson was killed in action. Lieutenant William Hepburn was severely
wounded. Lieutenant George W. McCabe was wounded to a degree undetermined.
