German Evangelical Church Cemetery, West Seneca, Erie County, NY

The German Evangelical Church Cemetery sits underneath the West Seneca Water tower, adjacent to Sunshine Park, a girls softball complex, on East and West Road in West Seneca, Erie County, New York.   The site was established as a cemetery in 1821 and subsequently abandoned in 1951 when the church was relocated after a fire.   Maintenance is handled by the town which seems to value its historical landmarks.

The cemetery is tiny, holding probably less than 100 tombstones, many of which are no longer legible.   We photographed those which were at least partially legible and have posted links to the pictures below.   We did the best we could in terms of transcribing the legible ones and present the transcription for your use in your family history research.   Click on links below to view photographs.   We hope this work is of some value and regret that we did not have the time to fully research the cemetery and those interred here.
