St John's Orthodox Church Cemetery, Perth Amboy, Middlesex County, NJ
St John's Orthodox Church Cemetery lies at the junction of Florida Grove Road and Rt 184, W. Pond Road, in Perth Amboy, NJ,
across the street from Holy Trinity Cemetery (Roman Catholic) and
then across Rt 184 from one of its gates. The cemetery consists of one main area and then a smaller yard across the highway.
It is very close to Route 9 and easily accessible. Parking is available on side streets or in front of the smaller yard.
The cemetery is medium sized, housing a few thousand burials. There are many eastern European names to be found here. Many family names
are identical to names found in Holy Trinity, as well as
Calvary Cemetery of the Magyar Reformed Church and
Saint Nicholas Catholic Church of the Byzantine Rite Cemetery, both located
further along Florida Grove Rd, on the 7-11 side of Rt. 184.
Tombstones are in generally very good condition and the yard is well maintained. While the area is busy and somewhat congested,
all these graveyards are ppeaceful and pleasant to visit.
