Daughter of late John La Farge, Painter, Succumbs to Injuries
Mrs. William Rehn Claxton, of Chestnut Hill, daughter of the late, John La Farge, the painter, died yesterday as the result of injuries following a fall on an icy pavement earlier in the month. Death occurred in the Chestnut Hill Hospital, to which she was removed after the accident.
Mrs. Claxton's home was Norworth Inn, Chestnut Hill. The accident happened while she was visiting her daughter, Mrs. Morgan Hebard, 23 West Chestnut avenue.
One son, Oliver H. Perry Claxton, and three daughters, Mrs. Hebard, Mrs. Humphrey Stover, of Boston, and Miss. Emile La Farge Claxton, and a brother, the Rev. John La Farge, a widely known member of the Jesuit order, survive her.
Funeral services will be held this morning at 11 o'clock in Our Mother of Consolation Church, Chestnut Hill
Joseph A. Reed
Joseph A. Reed, a widely known lawyer, who died Monday at his home, 320 Gowen avenue, Mount Airy, will be buried Friday afternoon. Interment will be in Ivy Hill cemetery.
Mr. Reed was seventy-two years old and had retired several years ago. He was a Democrat, and ran for various offices on that ticket several times. His father, John P. Reed, was one of the leading attorneys of southwest Pennsylvania.
Mr. Reed was a member of the Pennsylvania Society of the Sons of the Revolution and a member of the consistory of Christ Reformed Church, Sixteenth and Green streets.
Frank S. Rowland
Frank S. Rowland, a retired manufacturer, died Monday night at his home, 4521 Paul street, Frankford, after several months' illness. He was seventy-one years old, Funeral services will be conducted at his home Friday afternoon. For many years Mr. Rowland was a member of the firm of William & Harvey Rowland, Inc. He is survived by a son, Edwin D. Rowland, and three daughters, Mrs. Frank Libhart, Mrs. James G. Lindsay, Jr., and Mrs. Raymond L. Bault, all of this city. His wife died three years ago.
Mrs. Eunice Nealis
Mrs. Eunice Nealis, mother of Harry Nealis, street sergeant of the Thirty-second street and Woodland avenue police station, died yesterday at her home, 3418 Walnut street. Pneumonia was the cause of her death.
Mrs. Nealis, who was eighty-five years old, had lived at the Walnut street address since the close of the Civil War. She was well known in the neighborhood and was a member of St. James's Catholic Church, Thirty-eighth and Chestnut streets.
William H. Jackson
William H. Jackson, formerly an underwear manufacturer in Kensington, died yesterday at his home, 5606 Park Boulevard, Wildwood Crest. Mr. Jackson was sixty-five years old. The funeral will take place today. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Jackson; a daughter, Emily, and a son, William H. Jackson, Jr., who resides here.
Mr. Jackson was one of the first settlers in Wildwood Crest.
