MURDERS AND ACCIDENTS.

Suicides and Deaths from Natural Causes During the Past Year.

Coroner Meredith has been kept pretty busy during the past year, and the following resume of his work is presented:

MURDERS.

Andres Martinez, an Indian, between 35 and 40 years of age, died January 4th, at Los Angeles, by a knife wound.

Alexander Talice. a native of Italy, 36 years of age, died January 11th, at Los Angeles, by a knife wound.

Baby Cowles, an American, aged 6 months, died April l6th, at Los Angeles, from injuries to head and body.

Alice Kegel, a native of England, aged 30 years, died July 28th at Los Angeles, from injuries received at the hands of her husband.

Annie Williams, a native of Ireland, aged 30 years, died August 14th at Los Angeles.   Shot by her husband.

Feliz Raman E. Jen Dubois, a native of France, aged 40 years, died September 11th at Los Angeles. by a gunshot.

John McAvoy, a native of New York, aged 28 years, died October 11th at Santa Monica, by a pistol shot.

Henry Neitman, a native of Germany, aged 27 years, died December 10th at San Pedro, stabbed with a knife.

SUICIDES.

F. M. Davis, nationality unknown, aged 45 years, died Januasy (sic) 16th at Los Angeles, by a pistol shot.

Geo. B. Roberson, a native of Texas, aged 33 years, died January 22d at Los Angeles, by a knife wound.

Samuel Keefer, a native of Pennsylvania, aged 66 years, died January 23d at Monrovia, by a pistol shot.

Thos. Watson alias, W. G. Malone, a native of Illinois, aged 29 years, died April 4th, at San Jose, by a pistol shot.

Isaac W. Reed, a native of Illinois, aged 45 years, died April 28th, at Alahambra, by laudnum.

James Moore, a native of the West Indies, aged 30 years, died March 3d, by drowning.

H. W. Battie, a native of California, aged 18 years, died may 18th, at Cahuenga, hy hanging.

Olive W. Worcester, nationality unknown, aged 50 years, died May 20th, at Pasadena, by pistol shot.

Robert Fryer, a native of England, aged 53 years, died May 17th, at Pasadena, by a knife wound in the throat.

G. F. Graham, nationality unknown, aged 50 years, died May 31st, at Los Angeles, by a pistol shot.

Chas. Jansen, a native of Denmark, aged 45 years, died June 5th, at Santa Monica, by strychnine.

Ross M. Wharton, a native of Ohio, aged 47 years, died June 8th, at East Pasadena, by strychnine.

V. Foran, a native of France, aged 41 years, died January 8th, at Anaheim, by a pistol shot.

W. Carlton, nationality unknown, aged 50 years, died June 22d, at Los Angeles by morphine.

Daniel Fennor Carlton, a native of Boston, aged 35 years, died July 17th at Sierra Madre by a pistol shot.

Geo. K. Chase, a native of Michigan, aged 39 years, died July 29th at Santa Ana by morphine.

Henry Ortlepp, a native of Germany, aged 50 years, died July 31st at Santa Monica by a pistol shot.

Chas. Jordan, a native of France, aged 36 years, died September 1st at Los Angeles by poison.

John A. Fisher, a native of Illinois, aged 32 years, died September 4th at Los Angeles, by a pistol shot.

Nicholas F. Zitting, a native of Germany, aged 64 years, died October 21th at Los Angeles by a pistol shot.

Ed. W. Piatt, a native of Georgia, aged 32 years, died November 23d at Los Angeles by an overdose of laudanum.

Querino Tapin, a native of California, aged 26 years, died December 12th at Los Angelos by morphine.

Fairfax Dorsey, a native of Maryland, aged 19 years, died December 19th at Vernon by a pistol shot.

Christopher Walter Jum, a native of Illinois, died December 25th at Santa Ana by a pistol shot.

Bernabe Chi Julla, an Indian, aged 60 years, died December 27th at San Fernando Mission; hanging.

ACCIDENTS.

Laurena Gale, a native of Indiana, aged 27 years, died January 17th, at Los Angeles, by a railroad accident.

Unknown woman, nationality unknown, aged 35 years, died January 31st, at San Pedro, by drowning.

Lionel G. Thompson, a native of England, aged 61 years, died February 7th, near Lancaster, by exposure.

F. W. Gould, a native of Massachusets (sic), aged 30 years, died February 10th, at Sierra Madre, by drowning.

John. Fields, a native of Massachusets (sic), aged 46 years, died February 13th, at Castro Ranch, by exposure.

William Ford, nationality unknown, aged 64 years, died March 12th, at Los Angeles from injuries received by a runaway team.

B. W. Sullivan, a native of Massachusetts, aged 55 years, died March 17th, at Los Angeles, by excessive drinking.

Vincenti Morales, an Indian, aged 21 years, died March 19th, at Santiago ranch, by a falling tree.

Michael Yeager, a native of Germany, aged 58 years, died March 27th, at Los Angeles; run over by cars.

Louisa R. Cox, a native of Canada, aged 34 years, died April 12th, at Los Angeles, by a railroad accident.

E. P. Duvarr, nationality unknown, died April 30th by the accidental discharge of a gun.

Mary E. Erhart, a native of Kansas, aged one year, died at Los Angeles May 2d, at Los Angeles, from burns from coal oil.

John Berty, a native of Ireland, aged 36 years, died May 11th, at Los Angeles, by a railroad accident.

James Walker, a native of Michigan, aged 34 years, died May 16th at Santa Monica, by a railroad accident.

Jos. S. Moore, a native of Maine, aged 54 years, died May 21st, lost in Tejunga mountains.

Eliz, Tarnish, a native of England, aged 35 years, died may 27th, at San Pedro, by alcoholism.

Earl Potts, a native of Illinois, aged 18 years, died May 29th at Pasadena by a railroad accident.

Mary Louisa, an Indian, aged 50 years, died June 4th at San Gabriel, run over by a train.

Cathrine J. Clarke, a native of New York, aged 39 years, died June 6th at Los Angeles, by burns.

Lorenzo Minninani, a native of Italy, aged 32 years, died June 10th at Los Angeles, by a railroad accident.

Joe a native of Chicago, aged 31 years, died July 2d at Azusa, by a railroad accident.

Joe, a Digger, aged 45 years, died July 3rd at San Pedro, drowned.

Arthur J. Stevens, a native of California, aged 8 years, died July 18th at Los Angeles; run over by a wagon.

Maguel Narvalitz, a native of France, aged 27 years, died July 27th at Ballona, by a railroad accident.

Adolphus G. Buesser, a native of Ohio, aged 10 years, died July 28th at Glendale, by a plough falling upon him from a wagon.

Thos. W. Rule, a native of Illinois; aged 40 years, died July 26th at Newport; drowned.

John Barry, a native of Ireland, aged 30 years, died August 5th at San Pedro, by a railroad accident.

John Byrnes, a native of Ireland, aged 57 years, died August 4th at San Pedro, drowning.

Patrick Teeling, a native of Ireland, aged 26 years, died August 9th at Los Angeles, by a street-car accident.

Charles McHogan, a native of Wisconsin, aged 22 years, died August 11th at Los Angeles, fell from a window.

Maurice Lauquet, a native of California, aged 16 months, died August 20th at Los Angeles, drowned.

Unknown man aged 35 years, died August 22d at Ios Angeles, by a railroad accident.

Valentine Ribaill, a native of France, aged 22 years, died August 28th at Wilmington, drowned.

Ed. H. Smith, a native of California, aged 4 years, died August 29th, at Long Beach, by a railroad accident.

Ole Oloson, a native of Norway, aged 35 years, died August 26th at Dead Man's Island; drowned.

Joe Taylor, nationality unknown, aged 28 years, died September 3d at Los Angeles, fell from an awning.

John Hug, a native of Switzerland, aged 27 years, died September 10th at Kinneloa Ranch; drowned.

Harry Flynn, a native of Ireland, aged 40 years, died September 22d at San Pedro, by a railroad accident.

Frank S. Prescott, a native of Vermont, aged 40 years, died September 30th at Los Angeles; fell from a window.

Tucker O. Tierce, a native of South Carolina, aged 62 years, died October 3d at Downey City, thrown from a wagon.

John Schrann, a native of Germany, aged 26 years, died October 25th. at Los Angeles, by a railroad accident.

Fannie Storr, nationality unknown, aged 15 years, died October 30th, at Los Angeles, by a railroad accident.

Jesie Bermerdez, a native of California, aged 5 years, died November 5th, at Ranchito, run over by a wagon.

Vincenzo Cicirelli, a native of Italy, aged 45 years, died December 9th at Los Angeles, by a street car accident.

Clementi a S. Arnold, a native of Pennsylvania, aged 45 years, died December 14th,at Crescenta by a falling building.

Claudia Arnold, a native of Minnesota, aged ?0 years, died December 14th, at Crescenta by a falling building.

Effie Smith, a native of Oregon, aged 26 years, died December 14th, at Lo* Angeles, burned to death.

Unknown man, aged 60 years, died December 14th, at Newport, suffocated by mud and water.

Ed. Willard, a native of New York, aged 70 years, died March 24th at Los Angeles.

Giovanni Lattich, a native of Austria, aged 43 years, died March 31st at Wilmington.

Juan Acuna, a native of Mexico, aged 43 years, died May 16th at Ballona.

Dr. John S. Baker, a native of Kentucky, aged 42 years, died May 15th at Los Angeles.

Balonia Duarte de Abila, a native of Los Angeles, aged 79 years, died June 10th at Los Angeles, partly from neglect.

F. Barrios, nativity unknown, aged 32 years, died June 16th at Los Angeles.

Otto Beaumou, native of Germany, aged 47 years, died June 29th at Los Angeles.

Unknown man, aged 32 years, died June 25th near the Loe Angeles river.

Albert Robert, a native of Missouri, aged 37 years, died July 11th at Loe Angeles.
