History of the 29th Division (Blue and Gray) 1917 - 1919

We have scanned the publication, "History of the 29th Division 'Blue and Gray' 1917 - 1919" and indexed it for your search. The work was prepared by Lt. Col. John A. Cutchins, assisted by Lt. Col. George Scott Stewart at the request of the Division Historical Committee. This is the official history of the Division in the World War.

This history, one of several such works compiled post World War I, summarizes the Division's activities in the war with descriptions of training, land covered and battles contested. It includes a good volume of photographs of every phase of the Division's experience from training to homecoming. It includes a list of casualties, citations issued, as well as a complete Divisional Roster.

We believe this work and those like it provide an excellent resource for family historians of the casual and serious kind to understand an important part of our ancestors' lives as they took part in the largest human event of its kind in history. We hope you find this resource useful and as fascinating as we did.
