59 Casualties Reported in Overseas Army; 13 Dead, 42 Wounded, 4 Missing in Action
Washington, May 19. - The War Department today gave out a list of
59 casualties in the American army abroad, bringing the total from the beginning
to 5,977. The list included 4 killed in action, 4 died of wounds, 3 died
of disease, 2 killed by accident, 36 wounded severely, 6 wounded slightly, and 4
missing in action.
Two commissioned officers are in the list. Lieutenant Jefferson Davis
Vincent died of accident. Lieutenant Robert B. Rhett, previously reported
missing, is now reported captured.
