| Brunswick, Georgia 1890 City Directory - Abbreviations
Please note: Newcastle, Reynolds, Union, Ellis, and Norwich Streets, today, run from the north end of town to the south end, but before 1908, they were called A,B,C,D, and E Streets respectively, north of Gloucester Street. So from Gloucester Street north to S street, they were lettered, and from Gloucester Street south to Dartmouth Street they were Newcastle, Reynolds, Union, Ellis, and Norwich Streets. So if you wanted to see where great grandpa lived on B Street, you would drive down Reynolds Street north of Gloucester Street.
