Headstone Photographs and Transcription for Wayside United Methodist Church Graveyard
To visit the graveyard adjacent to the Wayside United Methodist Church, take the Garden State Parkway to exit 105. After exiting the parkway,
proceed to the first traffic light and turn right onto Hope Road. Take Hope Road past the traffic light at Rt. 547, Shafto / Wyckoff Road, and then past
Industrial Ave. You will begin to see a residential construction project on your left. Take a left at your next traffic light and proceed less than a quarter
of a mile. The church is on your left. Once you are in the church's parking lot you will see the graveyard.
We have no idea about the history of the church and simply found it by following a map. The graveyard caught our attention because many of the families
interred here have names familiar to anyone interested in Monmouth County history and genealogy. For this reason, we photographed and transcribed the
gravemarkers found here. The yard is apparently still active with approximately one third of the available land unused.
