Allentown Methodist Cemetery, Allentown, Monmouth County, NJ

Allentown Methodist Cemetery sits on Broad Street in historic Allentown, New Jersey very close to I195, just one exit away from the NJ Turnpike.   The best way to get there via GPS is to enter the intersection of Broad Street and Hamilton Street in Allentown, NJ.   Allentown is an older town, first settled in the wery early 1700s.   The center of town is a quaint village with numerous historic buildings and landmarks,   The place was a stop on the stagecoach line and still has buildings around from that era.   It is known as a place to shop for antiques, to dine, and just to spend time shopping around.

The cemetery is small to medium sized holding maybe 2,000 or so interments.   Grave markers are a mix of old and new with some worn away, illegible stones.   We have done our best to photograph the entire yard but did not photograph markers we were not able to read at all.   We have transcribed these photographs into an index with some information from the tombstones listed alphabetically by surname.
