Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford, Hartford County, CT
Cedar Hill Cemetery lies along Fairfield Ave on the outskirts of Hartford, CT. It is a magnificent place holding more than 30,000
interments. Grounds are immaculate and extremely well maintained. It holds graves dating back to the middle 1800s, when the
cemetery opened. The grounds consist of well more than 200 acres. It seems more like a park than a cemetery. There are
a lot of names associated with the very early settlers of the area as well as several noteworthy, even famous persons. Historians as well
as those of us with more mudane hobbies and interests will not be disappointed with a visit to this site.
We visited the cemetery only briefly, taking approximately 500 pictures of tombstones. We very much hope to return to continue with this
long-term project.
As the cemetery is several hours away, we can not entertain any requests for photographs. But if you happen to know which section your person
of interest is buried in, when we do return, we will make an effort to photograph that section. Otherwise, we suggest you contact the cemetery
for any research issues you may have. You can do so by visiting their web site here:

We have noted sections of the cemetery in which we photographed. For a map of the cemetery, please go

of value in your family history research.
